Galgenbeck: Factions
A downloadable game
The Dying Lands breed legion decomposers. From the moist, swollen pustules of old cities and kingdoms, they wriggle forth, blindly seeking the spoiled meat and sweet silver left over as everything decays. And nowhere is this pestilence stronger than in the greatest city there ever was, the nightmare labyrinth of flesh and neuroses that leeches the life out of Tveland with each passing day:
The hell city. The host to a thousand maggots. The tattered hill. Galgenbeck.
This codex includes four factions (seven in the deluxe edition) to bring the political intrigue and corruption of Galgenbeck into your game in a clear, orderly, yet organic and visceral way. These factions include:
• The Inquisition, ruthless authoritarian persecutors
• The Theodiacs, destroyers of idols*
• The Crowlers, animalistic demon-worshippers
• The Cult of Saint Oremor, gothic necromancer monks*
• The Dust Circle, drug-dealing athlete monks
• The Mendelites, evil fascistic gardeners and herbalists
• The Sindicult, organized crime for the Dark Ages*
* = Deluxe Edition
Included is a guide to using the Unified Faction System, an adaptable and flexible format for creating and playing factions, of my own design.
Galgenbeck: Factions is an independent production by The Illustrious Sanguine and is not affiliated with Ockult Örtmästare Games or Stockholm Kartell. It is published under the MÖRK BORG Third Party License.
MÖRK BORG is copyright Ockult Örtmästare Games and Stockholm Kartell.
Additionally, the Unified Faction System borrows extensively from John Harper's work, especially Blades in the Dark.

Two points of order:
- While both the Inquisition and the Mendelites are written in such a way that players could join them, this is purely to match the UFS format. I highly suggest you do not let your players join either of these factions; they should always be treated as the enemy.
- I have tested these factions primarily with my own Mörk Borg group and would like to credit them: Jules, Evee, Julia, and Ocean.
